Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said 97,244 passengers travelled on the Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur route and 6,829 passengers went on the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban route up to October. The government spent RM240 million to buy five sets of six-coach electric trains for use on the two routes, he said in a written reply to Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Segambut). Kong said the ETS offered discounts of between 20 and 50 per cent to various categories of passengers, including students, the disabled, government pensioners and senior citizens. -- BERNAMA
